Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Frosting of your choice
  • Spring-themed sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs, then vanilla.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
  7. Let cool in pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Frost cupcakes and decorate with spring sprinkles.
